November 2018: GM Magnus Carlsen, 27 (Norway) retained his World title in London by defeating GM Fabiano Caruana, 26 (USA) 3-0 in a rapid play play-off after the standard play championship match finished in a 6-6 tie.
April 2017: A second booklet of 4 practice/past papers at both Level 1 and Level 2 is now available on our Order Forms page. The price of all booklets will rise by £1 to £10 and of all individual past papers will rise by £1 to £5 from 8 May 2017. This is our first price rise since 2010 and results from increased postage and stationery costs. The price of current exam papers will remain unchanged.

September 2016: 2 new sections have also been added to the Level 3 Syllabus and Revision Guide on A) Defending the King and B) Playing too Passively. We do not anticipate making any further material changes to the Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 Syllabuses or Revision Guides during this decade. There will be no material changes to the Level 4 or Level 5 Syllabuses or Revision Guides before July 2017.
August 2016: 2 new sections have been added to the Level 2 Syllabus and Revision Guide on A) Attacking and Defending Pieces and B) Tournament Chess.
